Endoscopic Mid-Face Lift and Silhouette Lift®

Endoscopic Mid-Face Lift

Endoscopic Mid-Face Lift | Silhouette Lift | Santa MonicaMany factors influence the health and appearance of the face: Aging, the effects of gravity, repetitive facial movements, sun damage and environmental stress, as well as personal habits (smoking in particular). While these changes occur throughout the face and neck, they are often first noticed in the mid-face—the region between the lower eyelids and mouth—marked by lower lid bags, hollows, sagging cheeks and deepening folds adjacent to the nose and lips.

Major advances in restoring youthfulness to this important area have occurred with the development of non-reactive supportive suture designs and with minimal-incision endoscopic procedures.

Restoration of youthful contour over the cheek bones can also be coordinated with eyelid smoothing (lower lid blepharoplasty) or with cheek implants for those with inherited flat cheekbones.

Endoscopic Midface Lift Procedure

Using a sedative or general anesthesia, small incisions hidden within the temporal hair or inside the mouth allow repositioning of sagging elements aided by tiny instruments and a fiberoptic camera system. Specialized sutures and organic dissolvable fixators help produce a natural, restorative lift.

Recovery from Endoscopic Midface Lift

After an endoscopic midface lift, patients will usually need about a week off from work and other regular activities. Bruising and swelling are typically mild and helped by icing and head elevation. This will naturally vary with the individual and when other procedures are done at the same time. Numbness and subtle weakness in the treated area are usually quite temporary. Dr. Butler will discuss any other specific aids to recovery that may be helpful.

Natural appearing rejuvenation without an “operated look” is typical after mid-face lifting.

Silhouette Lift®

Younger patients seeking a subtle answer to very early signs of aging can look to the Silhouette Lift®. Evolution of specialized sutures to lift and support early facial and jawline sagging is a major improvement over earlier “Thread-lifting” techniques.

Since it requires no disturbance of the facial tissues, bruising and significant swelling are rare.

The Silhouette Lift® can be performed in an hour under local anesthesia and does not preclude other procedures when future aging changes warrant a more substantial type of rejuvenation.
